Hanko vs Authalla
Hanko is a German company that decided passkeys were the point, which is the same conclusion we reached. The European argument we make on the other comparison pages does not apply here, so this page sticks to where the two products differ.

Both European. One difference underneath
Hanko GmbH is in Kiel, and nothing about their ownership should worry a European buyer. The difference is one layer down: their site says Hanko Cloud is hosted exclusively in the AWS Frankfurt region. The servers are in Germany and the company operating them is American, which is the distinction between EU-hosted and EU-owned that most of this industry blurs.
Authalla runs on Hetzner, a German-owned company, in Helsinki. Whether that gap matters is a judgement about your own risk. We have written down where our own line is: our European page names every provider, including the one place data leaves Finland.
What an enterprise customer costs
Hanko’s Pro plan is $29 a month plus a cent per user above 10,000, and SAML is $49 per connection per month. We found no SCIM provisioning offered. So your third enterprise customer adds $49 a month, and a customer who wants their directory to create and remove accounts automatically is a conversation rather than a setting.
Enterprise SSO over OIDC and SAML, and SCIM 2.0, are in every Authalla plan including the free one, with no per-connection fee at any size. At 10,000 users with three connections that is $176 a month against €99. The full scenario across seven vendors is on our pricing page.
