The Authalla manifesto
We started Authalla because too many commercial authentication products are worse than they should be. The documentation is out of date, the bugs are irritating, and half the buttons in the admin screens don’t seem to do anything. Add slow support and an IAM project drags on for ages, and everyone waiting on it pays for that: the developers, the business and the people trying to sign in.
So we are building the one we wanted to buy. It has to work for the developer wiring it in and for the person paying for it, it has to be affordable, and it has to work the first time.
For most people, identity and access management is about the most boring thing they can think of. Fair enough. Sign-in is there so the rest of your product can get on with its job, and when it works, nobody thinks about it at all. That is what we are aiming for.
We also left passwords out of Authalla from day one. They should have been retired years ago, and keeping them is a security risk that you and your customers don’t need to take. Everyone says passwordless is where authentication is heading. We started there.
Between us we have decades of experience with authentication platforms, as consultants and as their customers. We’ve worked on small systems and on business-critical enterprise systems with millions of users.
Authalla is where all of that goes. If you want authentication you can always count on, that is what we are building.
